The Alberta Public Service works to build a stronger province for current and future generations. We make a difference in the lives of Albertans through rewarding and diverse career opportunities. One of Alberta Justice’s core businesses is to provide Legal and Strategic services to government; this is accomplished through our Legal Services Division. Legal Services is proud to be a learning organization and offers employees opportunities to learn and grow in their careers. Legal Services Division is currently seeking a qualified Evidence Production Paralegal. This position requires you to work closely with lawyers, support staff, representatives from client ministries, and others. The successful candidates require the ability to learn and understand complex technology, and they need to be familiar with legal processes and procedures in civil litigation. The Evidence Production Team (EPT) manages records for the division, mostly in civil and aboriginal litigation involving the Alberta government. Its core business is collecting, processing, organizing, reviewing, and producing records for use in litigation and judicial reviews, with the assistance of document eDiscovery software (Nuix Discover). In addition to carrying out traditional paralegal tasks, the paralegals also train and advise the lawyers and support staff who use Nuix Discover, and they serve as Nuix Discover case administrators.
