About The Position

The mission of the New York City Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in New York City by working in partnership with the community to enforce the law, preserve peace, protect the people, reduce fear, and maintain order. The 63 Precinct is located in the borough of Patrol Borough Brooklyn South. The command services the Southern part of Brooklyn consisting of Marine Park, Mill Basin, Bergen Beach, Flatlands, Glenwood and Mill Island. The 63rd PCT is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role of Evidence Property Control Specialist II to perform the duties that include, but are not limited to: Safeguarding property in various locations within the precinct. Reviewing vouchers when one is not present at the command to make sure they are correct, retrieving bank receipts at the bank confirming the amounts match the receipt to the voucher, and making notifications to IAB. Fixing vouchers that need to be corrected Transporting property to appropriate property clerk division storage facilities Properly vouchering vehicles, firearms, narcotics, jewelry, and currency Assisting the ADA office with questions or concerns about specific vouchers Notifying police officers when items from vouchers need specific information.

Requirements

  • A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent
  • Two years of full-time, satisfactory experience in the areas of security, law enforcement and/or active military duty; or Successful completion of 60 college semester credits at an accredited college or university with at least a 2.0 cumulative index grade point average.
  • A motor vehicle driver license valid in the State of New York.
  • At least one year of experience in Assignment Level I or in a supervisory capacity.
