About The Position

The Eviction Diversion Coordinator is responsible for the daily management of the Tenfold Eviction Diversion Program. The Coordinator is a member of the Empowerment Center intake team and supports the coordination of the program in client flow into housing counseling. The Eviction Diversion Program partners with the Magisterial District Court 02-1-01 to intervene during the eviction process by offering mediation services, legal representation, financial assistance, and case management services to tenants enrolled in the program. Tenfold seeks to expand this court, and the coordinator would be responsible for an additional court at the time of expansion.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in housing, fair housing, eviction prevention, or related social services field.
  • Knowledge of fair housing law, landlord/tenant rights, and eviction procedures.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience working with a diverse range of populations, including individuals experiencing housing instability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, law, or related field (preferred).
  • Fluency in Spanish language
  • Experience working with local government agencies or the court system.
  • Familiarity with local rental assistance programs and community resources.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with the local magisterial district judge and court staff.
  • Establish and maintain open lines of communication with local landlords to foster a cooperative approach to eviction prevention.
  • Support relationships with partnering organizations and services to further program and client success.
  • Serve as liaison between landlords, tenants, and local professionals to mediate conflicts and negotiate solutions that prevent eviction.
  • Manage incoming eviction hearing docket and develop tools to connect with clients prior to hearing. May include mailings, phone calls, neighborhood canvassing, or other means of communication.
  • Review and determine tenant’s eligibility for service in the program.
  • Work directly with tenants facing eviction to assess their needs and connect them with appropriate resources (ie. rental assistance, legal aid, social services).
  • Attend court hearing to assist tenants in completing intake forms, connecting eligible tenants to legal representation, and documenting court outcomes.
  • Assist tenants in negotiating with landlords to prevent eviction by facilitating communication and addressing concerns related to payment and lease violations.
  • Help coordinate payment plans and agreements between tenants and landlords that ensure both parties are satisfied and eviction is avoided prior to court hearing.
  • Conduct intakes, collect documentation and schedule appointments with Tenfold’s Housing Counseling team for additional services and counseling.
  • Maintain accurate case files, documenting all interactions, negotiations, and outcomes related to eviction prevention efforts.
  • Input case data in Tenfold CMS-Homeward Bound within 72 hours of service delivery and into Empower Lancaster when required.
  • Track and report eviction prevention efforts, identifying trends and barriers to success.
  • Coordinate with social service agencies, legal organizations, and other community resources to provide holistic support to tenants.
  • Fulfills intake staff duties for the Financial Empowerment Center.
  • Supports the Financial Empowerment Center’s scheduling, data entry, and processing of client information.
  • Provides timely responses to service inquiries from clients and partners.
