Narrative Lab Internship – Events Intern
About The Position
Under the supervision of the Principal Narrative Strategist, the Events Intern will provide administrative support for virtual and in-person events to the Trans Agenda for Liberation Narrative Lab. This role involves leading project management for various events, drafting communications, shadowing meetings, and participating in team activities and professional development. The intern will also be expected to perform other duties as assigned and employ a socially conscious lens to ensure inclusivity, accessibility, and equity in all projects.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to proofread documents for both substance and typographical errors
- Takes initiative to manage the execution of projects once direction is given
- Excellent organizational skills and can handle multiple projects
- Meets deadlines consistently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Has strong interpersonal skills and displays cultural sensitivity and awareness
- Demonstrates flexibility, agility, and adaptability to changing priorities, setbacks, and challenges
- Demonstrated commitment to advancing transgender freedom and racial & economic justice
Responsibilities
- Lead project management for virtual and in person events, including virtual research briefings, virtual trainings, in-person site visits, and conferences, etc
- Draft and copy-edit invitations, follow-up, and event wrap-ups
- Shadow meetings with collaborators, take notes, and handle follow-up to ensure smooth communication and timely deliverables
- Participate in team meetings as requested
- Take part in professional development activities at the organization
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Employ a socially conscious lens when completing projects to ensure that the language and/or graphics used are inclusive, accessible, and equitable
