About The Position

The Fair Labor Association (FLA) promotes human rights at work. The Events Coordinator (Level 2/Geo 1) works in partnership with relevant FLA staff and external vendors to provide logistical and administrative support for planning and implementing in-person, hybrid, and virtual events. This position is part of the Communications team and has been created to provide coverage during a maternity leave. This role is fully remote and may be based in any location in the U.S. where FLA is registered to include the following: CA, CT, DC, FL, GA, IL, MA, MD, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OR, PA, TX, VA, VT, and WA. Occasional travel may be required. The annual salary equivalent for this temporary role (early October 2026 through mid-April) is $65K-70K DOE.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in event management.
  • Proven ability to organize successful in-person, hybrid, and virtual events, with preference given to candidates that have used platforms such as Cvent and Zoom.
  • Strong ability to work with global and remote teams.
  • Strong communication, organization, and management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and solve problems under pressure.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in French and/or Spanish is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Support the overall planning and implementation of FLA international in-person and hybrid events, such as the Fair Labor Regional Forum and the Fair Labor Global Summit.
  • Ensure planning activities remain on track and deadlines and deliverables are met.
  • Lead planning meetings with internal and external partners.
  • Monitor budgets for overall event planning, including staff and non-staff travel arrangements.
  • Manage room blocks and serve as main liaison for hotel contacts.
  • Track and manage registrations in Cvent.
  • Coordinate event logistics, including venues, room layouts, catering, AV, transportation, signage, and on-site staffing.
  • Request and review external vendor proposals and quotes, where needed.
  • Track and support FLA participation in key external conferences and events; where appropriate, manage the organization and execution of side meetings, exhibitions, and speaking engagements.
  • Coordinate planning and implementation of FLA virtual events, including providing logistical support before, during, and after the event; managing technical aspects; and leading event follow-up.
