About The Position

Provide programmatic and logistical support for new student and family programs within the Department of Welcome Programs. This role involves assisting with event coordination, curriculum development, operational support, inter-departmental collaboration, and daily administrative tasks. The position is designed for GCU students seeking to gain experience in event planning and program management while upholding the university's Christian worldview and values.

Requirements

  • Experience and interest in event planning and/or curriculum development
  • Excellent written and oral communication, as well as interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Desire to learn new skills and ability to take and receive direction from staff
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks at one time and take initiative of responsibilities
  • Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with creating, coordinating, and implementing logistics for events and activities
  • Assist with creating, coordinating, and implementing curricula and programs
  • Provide operational, task-oriented support for all programs, events, and activities
  • Network and collaborate with other GCU departments, partners, and students
  • Maintain and expand knowledge of relevant systems, platforms, and resources to aid in managing organizational details
  • Support daily office functions and administrative tasks, including answering phone calls and emails
  • Other duties as assigned
