About The Position

The Events and Ministry Coordinator is a part-time, paid position responsible for executing the service plan of Apartment Life. This role, internally called Coordinator of Resident Services, involves working with a supervisor to prepare a monthly schedule of events and programming to meet the needs of a specific senior adult community. Programming can include resident events, workshops/classes for adults and families, resourcing activities, and welcoming new residents. The coordinator plans and hosts one event each month to promote social engagement, wellness, health, enrichment, and stability, and creates a monthly schedule of community activities and/or workshops.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Legally eligible to work in the United States.
Bachelor's Degree or related experience in event planning, social impact, or human services.
Excellent listening/communication skills (written and verbal).
Ability to provide after-hours or weekend activities as needed.
Basic computer skills.
Basic fluency in English to compose marketing elements for the community and required reports.
Possess a current driver's license and liability insurance, and access to a form of reliable transportation.
Be physically able to use stairs, bend, sit, stand, stoop, and carry up to 25 pounds.
Have the availability to commit weekly hours to perform job responsibilities, mainly in the evenings and weekends.
Be able to make the minimum term commitment to serving in the apartment community.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual Spanish preferred, but not required.
Experience serving at-risk populations preferred.
Previous event planning experience.
Experience working within a budget.
Some relevant experience using social media.
Have a network of support through potential volunteers, vendors, or community partners.

Responsibilities

Plan and host 1 event each month to promote social engagement, wellness, health, enrichment, and stability.
Create a monthly schedule that includes community activities and/or workshops.
Work with corporate, government, and nonprofit partners to create programs that fit each community's needs.
Organize and host educational workshops for adults and youth.
Meet with residents to provide support and connect them with resources.
Share information about rental, food, and other assistance programs.
Oversee all activities to ensure they run smoothly.
Communicate regularly with onsite staff.
Meet weekly with your supervisor to review program and goals.
Submit monthly reports on activities and impact.
