About The Position

As Manager, Event Transportation, you will lead the planning and execution of high-profile event transportation programs across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. You are accountable for the full lifecycle of each project, from proposal development and vendor negotiations to on-site delivery and post-event evaluation. Acting as the primary operational contact for clients and suppliers, you ensure GoHammerhead’s global guest experience standards are consistently met. You will also play a key role in mentoring junior team members and shaping the operational growth of GoHammerhead’s U.S. division.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business administration, or event management preferred, but we do encourage people with any Bachelor’s degree to apply
  • 4+ years’ experience with organizing or producing (sports) events (e.g. NCAA, Minor League, Major League, global tournaments)
  • OR 4+ years’ experience in Account Management or Sales, with an operations/logistics aspect
  • Experience managing budgets between USD $250,000 and $1,000,000
  • Experience managing a minimum of 2 direct reports or 10 reports in a project/event team
  • Have a valid driver’s license and feel comfortable driving at busy (city) destinations
  • Proficient computer skills including but not limited to:
  • Excel (you know how to create pivot tables, use VLOOKUP, create budgets)
  • PowerPoint (can effectively prepare presentations with comprehensive storyline)
  • CRM software (e.g. Salesforce, Airtable)
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Extensive walking and standing for periods greater than 12 hours while at events
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Full-time in-person based in the Charlotte, NC office
  • Requires flexibility to work long hours and weekends, as needed
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
  • Willing and eligible to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, budgeting, and delivery of event transportation programs
  • Oversee and mentor one direct report and multiple temporary staff during event periods
  • Negotiate and manage vehicle supplier relationships, contracts, and service-level expectations
  • Own the accuracy of data in the CRM system and ensure timely reporting to leadership
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, transfer their goals into operational excellence
  • Prepare and present financial summaries, proposals, and post-event reports
  • Collaborate with GHH’s office in The Netherlands to align best practices and knowledge transfer
  • Manage procurement process and ensure compliance with regulations and brand standards
  • Develop comprehensive transportation plans for each event, including staffing, routing, contingency, and communications
  • Lead internal and external kickoff meetings to define expectations, budgets, and deliverables
  • Coordinate signage, uniforms, and branding elements in collaboration with operations team
  • Lead on-site teams (staff, vendors, and drivers) to exceed guest expectations
  • Serve as the main client-facing representative on location, resolving challenges proactively
  • Monitor performance metrics and make immediate decisions to optimize service delivery
  • Conduct debrief sessions with internal teams, vendors, and clients to identify improvements
  • Prepare post-event financial summaries and feedback reports
  • Contribute to process and template improvements that enhance future event delivery.
