About The Position

The Event Technical Services (ETS) Technician’s primary responsibilities include the set-up, operation, and maintenance of sound, lighting, and A/V equipment, and in person customer service at events, via phone and email. This position reports to the ETS Student Manager and the Event Production Coordinator.

Requirements

  • Must be available to work between 5-15 hours per week during the semester
  • Must attend staff meetings and events as necessary, including rotating weekend shifts
  • Shifts can be scheduled as late as 2:00 am for special events during the week and on weekends
  • Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Capable of working under limited supervision during shifts
  • Must pass a Criminal Background Check
  • Must be at least a part-time student (enrolled in a minimum of 6 undergraduate or 5 graduate credits)
  • Must be in good academic standing (cumulative and semester GPAs of 2.0 or higher) at the time of hiring and throughout employment

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with audio visual equipment
  • At least two semesters remaining at UWSP
