About The Position

The Event Supervisor plays a critical leadership role in the execution of events, overseeing Event Captains, Lead Captains, and service staff to ensure seamless operations and exceptional guest experiences. This position acts as the on-site extension of the Event Manager, supporting overall event strategy, client coordination, and high-level problem solving. The Event Supervisor is responsible for maintaining service standards, managing team performance, and ensuring all event details are executed in alignment with company expectations. This role requires strong leadership, operational awareness, and the ability to make real-time decisions to ensure successful event outcomes.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5-10 years of food and beverage or hospitality experience required
  • Minimum 5 -10 years in a leadership role (Lead Captain, Event Captain, or equivalent) required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food, beverage, and service standards required
  • Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, and bar operations required
  • Familiarity with event planning documents (BEOs, floor plans, timelines) required
  • Ability to write, read, and verbally communicate
  • Must have good positive energy throughout the day
  • Must be able to print legibly for Team Members, management, and guests to read
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to move quickly
  • Must be able to push and lift up to 75 lbs. with or without assistance
  • Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company standards
  • Must be effective as part of a team; ability to interact with internal and external customers, managers, and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all on-site event operations, ensuring execution aligns with BEOs, timelines, and client expectations
  • Supervise Event Captains, Lead Captains, and all service staff throughout the event lifecycle
  • Ensure seamless coordination between Front-of-House and Heart-of-House teams
  • Maintain full awareness of event flow and proactively adjust staffing or service as needed
  • Ensure all setup, execution, and breakdown procedures are completed to company standards
  • Direct Event Captains and Lead Captains in delegating responsibilities to service staff
  • Lead or support pre-service meetings, ensuring all staff are informed and prepared
  • Provide real-time coaching, direction, and performance feedback
  • Maintain accountability for staff performance, professionalism, and adherence to standards
  • Oversee staff attendance, break compliance, and timekeeping accuracy
  • Support the Event Manager in maintaining strong client relationships and satisfaction
  • Act as a senior point of contact for guest and client needs during events
  • Handle escalated guest concerns with professionalism and urgency
  • Ensure all guests receive exceptional hospitality and service
  • Serve as the primary on-site contact in the absence of the Event Manager
  • Coordinate with vendors, venue partners, and internal departments as needed
  • Ensure all food and beverage service meets company, health, and safety standards
  • Maintain communication across all teams to ensure alignment throughout the event
  • Oversee and verify staff clock-in/out procedures and payroll accuracy
  • Support or review end-of-shift financial procedures and reporting
  • Assist in reviewing event details prior to execution and provide operational input
  • Report event outcomes, challenges, and team performance to senior management
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of all food and beverage menus and company standards
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Health regulations and alcohol service laws
  • Uphold cleanliness, organization, and overall presentation of the venue
  • Ensure all equipment, inventory, and event materials are properly handled and maintained
  • Lead by example with professionalism, organization, and a positive attitude
  • Foster a team-oriented environment, supporting all staff as needed
  • Attend and participate in meetings, trainings, and development sessions
  • Assist and/or complete additional tasks as assigned.
