About The Position

Goldenvoice is hiring Event Staff for their Los Angeles venues: The Fonda Theatre, El Rey Theatre, and The Roxy Theatre. Positions include Guest Services, Security, Porters, Audio Technician, Lighting Technician, Video Technician, and Stagehands. A job fair was held on July 26th, 2026, but walk-ins were welcome. Online applications are also accepted.

Requirements

  • Minimum education level of High School Diploma or its equivalency.
  • 1-2 years of related work experience.
  • Ability to work in varying conditions.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. without assistance.
  • Positive attitude with superior customer service skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Expert organizational, leadership, and time management skills.
  • Ability to qualify and be issued a security officer license.
  • Must be able to work long hours including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
  • CPR and AED certification.
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations with good understanding of right and wrong.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Guard Card.
  • Reliable, punctual, and regular in attendance.
  • Ability to take direction and work well with others.
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time (4-6 hours per shift) and lift tables, chairs, etc.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Employee must use precautions and follow safety guidelines.
  • Ability to operate light and sound systems and plan for live production events.
  • Working knowledge of stand tools and equipment of the trade.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Strong listening and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer literate and proficient in MS Office Professional Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Previous experience with manual labor preferred.
  • Forklift and heavy machinery certified.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license if venue location requires driving.
  • Must be able to take direction and execute instructions accurately.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in events and knowledge of the music industry preferred.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed according to venue schedule.
  • Knowledge of music industry and live events preferred.
  • Bachelor of Arts/Sciences Degree Preferred.
  • Experience working at festivals.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary provider of direct services to guests, ensuring a safe environment.
  • Answer guest questions, direct guests to venue areas, and provide assistance.
  • Operate coat check rooms.
  • Scan tickets for entry and administer applicable wristbands.
  • Greet guests and resolve complaints, escalating concerns as necessary.
  • Monitor guest conduct and alcohol consumption.
  • Seat guests and assist ADA patrons.
  • Enforce all policies and procedures of the venue.
  • Complete company and venue required trainings and participate in employee meetings.
  • Act as a member of the emergency evacuation team.
  • Monitor venue during guest arrival and exit for safety regulations.
  • Maintain the safety of all employees, guests, and clients through patrol, observation, and documentation.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for security-related issues and incident diffusion.
  • Assist with customer service requests.
  • Monitor assigned area of venue on foot.
  • Observe, report, and control ongoing activity.
  • Assist with the ejection or control of unruly guests.
  • Monitor entry and access points for the venue.
  • Ensure all guests and employees have appropriate access.
  • Escort artists, VIPs, guests, and employees.
  • Respond to fire control center, locate, acknowledge, and silence alarms.
  • Enact fire safety/evacuations when necessary.
  • Respond, observe, and document all medical situations and request EMT/medical personnel.
  • Assist with minor first aid situations.
  • Coordinate transportation for friends and family of afflicted when necessary.
  • Screen and confirm all employees, vendors, delivery personnel, guests, and artists entering venue.
  • Review and verify documentation for validity.
  • Log all activity, movement, and repairs.
  • Perform post-event cleaning, including sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, wiping surfaces, and cleaning spills.
  • Perform maintenance tasks such as changing lightbulbs, painting, and light construction.
  • Restock and reorder supplies as needed.
  • Inspect assigned work area for safety hazards, facility issues, and housekeeping needs.
  • Assist in all areas of production for venue events.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for shows, communicating with staff, vendors, security, and artist management.
  • Coordinate and advance production needs and requirements for all shows.
  • Oversee all stage and technical needs including lighting, sound, A/V, equipment, and venue maintenance.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain venue lighting system.
  • Operate lights during shows to achieve artist's vision.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain venue sound system.
  • Operate sound system during shows and confirm functionality.
  • Serve as back-up for A/V and PA systems.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain A/V system.
  • Maintain the public announcement system.
  • Operate PA during shows if Sound Engineer is absent.
  • Perform venue maintenance including lighting, sound, stage, and equipment.
  • Perform stage maintenance, including sweeping, mopping, painting, and buffing floors.
  • Set up and break down equipment on stage.
  • Load/unload equipment from trucks and set up according to stage design.
  • May be responsible for production and operations aspects including vendor end-to-end onsite set up.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between vendors, artists, sound crews, and property management companies.
  • Perform all setup before, during, and after events.
  • Assemble and disassemble production equipment on stage.
  • Work closely with and assist carpenters with scenery build, installation, video, sound, and light production.
  • Assemble and set up props, microphones, musical instruments, scenery, etc.
  • Disassemble and remove equipment at the end of the scene.
  • Clean up the stage and backstage area after performances.
  • Load and unload equipment from trucks and set up equipment according to stage design.
  • Assist carpenters with scenery build and installation of stage maintenance.
  • Construct and paint set pieces, move and rearrange furniture.
  • Work closely with electricians and lighting assistants with maintenance of video, sound, and light production.
  • Ensure operations of systems are functioning properly.
