About The Position

Event Staff prepare event venues by setting up, arranging, and tearing down tables and chairs. They check, accept, and scan printed or electronic pre-purchased tickets for events at Railyard Live (May–September, Fridays and Saturdays), Victory Theater (year-round, irregular), and Prairie View Center (irregular). They also sell or issue tickets at venue entry, including issuing pre-purchased tickets through will call, and provide customer service to guests. Additional duties may include working as ticket takers or ushers for Prairie View Center events throughout the year.

The position involves outdoor work in weather conditions and a usually loud work environment. Work is highly repetitive and moderately physical, requiring concentration and consistent task cycles. Employees use their hands continuously, regularly stand for long periods, and may need to lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

• General educational background without high school completion, plus 0 to 6 months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily.
• Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel continuously.
• Ability to stand for long periods regularly.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Close vision.

Responsibilities

• Greet patrons attending entertainment events.
• Collect and verify pre-purchased physical or electronic admission tickets and passes at venue entry.
• Sell tickets at venue entry and issue pre-purchased will-call tickets.
• Assist patrons with event information, locating facilities, and finding lost articles or persons.
• Inform an appropriate supervisor or public safety official about disorderly or dangerous conduct.
• Guide or instruct patrons in case of an emergency.
• Prepare the venue for opening and reset it for closing, including setting up, arranging, and tearing down tables and chairs.
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
