About The Position

This role is ideal for students who enjoy problem-solving, working with people, and participating in campus activities. The SUB is seeking a candidate to begin SUMMER 2026. This position is responsible for the setup and tear-down of various items including tables, chairs, stages, and drapes, as well as audio-visual equipment such as microphones, laptops, speakers, and mixers within the Student Union Building spaces. The role requires the ability to lift, push, pull, and manipulate 30lbs, strong communication skills, and flexibility to work early mornings, late nights, and weekends. This position is part of a fun and fast-paced environment, offering an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on events.

Responsibilities

  • Adherence to Student Union Employee Handbook guidelines.
  • Set up and tear-down of audio-visual equipment.
  • Set up and tear-down of chairs, tables, stages, podiums, etc.
  • Works with the Building Manager and follows their directions regarding pace, prioritization, and aesthetics.
  • Perform minor audio-visual repairs/troubleshooting.
  • Maintain a neat, orderly, and safe work environment; ensuring all equipment is returned to the appropriate storage area when not in use.
  • Ensure that all equipment is always in fully operational condition and report any problems to the supervisor.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
