About The Position
The Department of Agriculture is seeking a hardworking Event Services Operations Staff to support a wide-range of events across the Farm Show Complex. This role keeps you involved in hands-on work that helps each event run smoothly. Your dedicated efforts will help to create clean, organized, and welcoming spaces for our visitors. This position helps prepare, maintain, and restore facilities so events at the Farm Show Complex run smoothly and safely.
Requirements
- No previous experience or training required
- Must be able to perform essential job functions
Nice To Haves
- Experience working around animals and livestock
- Experience working in large-scale public events
- Experience operating power and hand tools
- Ability to perform duties in environmental conditions including adverse weather and exposure to dirt, dust, and hay
Responsibilities
- Haul, place, and teardown tables, chairs, stages, gates, furniture, and other event equipment
- Sweep, mop, scrub floors, and remove trash, manure, and debris from indoor and outdoor areas
- Assemble, repair, clean, and dismantle stalls, pens, and cages while working safely around animals
- Rake debris, remove branches, shovel snow, and keep complex entrances clean
- Clean restrooms, wash windows, stock supplies, and maintain common areas
- Load and unload straw, hay, feed, scrap metal, and wood from trucks and trailers
