About The Position

Ada Bible Church is hiring a part-time Events Services Coordinator for our Bella Vista Campus in Rockford. This position is perfect for someone who loves pulling together details in support of a great event that draws people closer to Christ. This position will work together with ministry leaders and others on the Events Services team for internal ministry events, outside events, weddings, funerals, and other event related projects. This is a part-time position offered at approx. 20 hours per week.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of work experience in event planning.
  • You are a planner, well-organized, and you enjoy making sure that even the small details are in order.
  • You are a resourceful and quick-thinker who can foresee potential challenges and proactively propose solutions.
  • You can cook delicious food for large groups.
  • You are a strong and effective communicator both verbally and in writing.
  • You have solid interpersonal and leadership skills. You will train and lead volunteers who support events so you will need to provide clear direction to them and be approachable when they have questions.
  • You should be available to work when events are scheduled which may include weekends, some evenings, or occasional holidays.
  • You should be a committed Christian living a life of obedience to Christ.
  • Willing to become a member within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in various elements of event planning including ensuring events are executed within policy guidelines, assisting in conceptual event planning and execution within ministry departments, monitoring expenses to ensure that events occur within budget limits, working with ministry leaders and others regarding appropriate decorations for events, ensuring that appropriate technical equipment/resources are present for the event, coordinating weekly hospitality orders (condiments, paper products, etc.) and other food and beverage needs for events, and coordinating with building support staff for building use (and setup/tear down).
  • Cook for events as needed.
  • Serve as one of the wedding coordinators for the church by ensuring proper lighting, sound, and other technical support are available when needed, leading wedding rehearsals and coordinating wedding details with the officiating pastor, and meeting with and serving as the primary contact for the bride and groom to ensure that all facility issues are properly managed.
  • Funeral coordination as assigned.
  • Attend campus staff meetings as much as possible and serve as an active member of the campus staff.
  • Run errands and does weekly shopping to procure resources and ensure that assigned campus has the appropriate supplies for its activities.
