About The Position

Perk (formerly TravelPerk) is seeking an Event Sales Specialist to join their growing Event Sales team. This role focuses on managing smaller-scale projects and mid-yielding opportunities, primarily supporting long-tail and SMB accounts globally. The ideal candidate will have an interest in travel and a strong commitment to providing excellent customer experiences within a collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a venue sourcing / meetings & events team, preferably with an agency background.
  • Good knowledge of venue and event destinations across the globe.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Well-organized and accustomed to working to tight deadlines and under pressure.
  • Friendly and professional telephone manner.
  • Confident in negotiating rates with suppliers over the phone.
  • Great time management skills.
  • Positive, flexible attitude and a great team player.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with a MICE booking tool such as Cvent.
  • Solid knowledge of event venues/hotels and destinations worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the wider sales organization to increase client awareness of the MICE offering and generate opportunities, especially with AM teams.
  • Manage predominantly smaller-scale projects and mid-yielding opportunities, focusing on long-tail and SMB accounts globally.
  • Prepare RFPs for a global portfolio of customers and manage the process from proposal through to negotiation, including site inspections.
  • Coordinate operational processes with cross-functional Perk teams based on customer requirements and oversee arrangement set-up.
  • Handle phone calls and email requests/queries from existing and potential customers in a timely manner.
  • Support sales conversations with SEs and ESEs for discovery and to help potential customers understand services.
  • Provide customers with suitable options and suggestions for event or group travel requirements.
  • Handle all conferences, events, groups, incentives, and meetings worldwide.
  • Proactively maintain customer relationships and uncover future opportunities.
  • Demonstrate a problem-solving attitude, anticipate customer needs, and provide appropriate customer service throughout the process.
  • Process responses to clients within agreed service level agreements.
  • Act in accordance with all Company Quality Standard and Procedures.
  • Actively participate in company processes and suggest improvements.
  • Assist colleagues as needed.
  • Maximize opportunities to generate additional revenue streams across all regions to support Perk's revenue targets and drive profitability.
  • Successfully service Event Sales & Group as Perk add-on services at a high level.
