About The Position

HomeStar Remodeling is seeking an Event Manager to oversee their event channel, which includes booking events, setting up booths, working the floor, and leading a team. This role is crucial for generating business through home shows, county fairs, auto shows, flea markets, and street festivals. The ideal candidate has prior experience in the remodeling, roofing, or home-services field and can demonstrate success with relevant metrics. This is not an entry-level position, and a strong understanding of event sales is required.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience working events for a remodeling, roofing, window, siding, solar, or similar home-services company, with experience across multiple events and seasons.
  • Ability to demonstrate past performance metrics, such as appointments booked per event, sit rate, and conversion rates.
  • Skill in engaging strangers at events and initiating conversations about home services without being overly salesy.
  • Proven ability to lead a small team, set a positive tone, maintain energy, and manage breakdown.
  • A reliable vehicle and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift around 50 lbs.
  • Availability to work Friday through Sunday year-round.
  • Experience in booking appointments for free in-home estimates.

Nice To Haves

  • Existing relationships with event organizers in the PA, MD, DE, and NJ region.
  • Past experience training brand ambassadors, canvassers, or other field marketing representatives.
  • Sales background specifically in windows, roofing, or siding.

Responsibilities

  • Lining up events by contacting event organizers, securing booth space, negotiating placement, and handling paperwork.
  • Identifying and securing participation in various events, including home shows, fairs, auto shows, flea markets, and street festivals, to generate leads.
  • Setting up event booths by unloading materials, assembling displays, staging products, and ensuring a professional appearance before events open.
  • Working the event booth to convert conversations into booked appointments for free in-home estimates.
  • Coaching and leading a team of event staff and canvassers in real-time during events.
  • Training new event staff and developing a team to improve overall event performance and bonus potential.
  • Building a team that can potentially work multiple events simultaneously in different locations.
  • Managing event logistics, including setup, working the floor, and breakdown.
  • Ensuring all estimates are guaranteed in writing for a full year.
