Requirements

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of event planning experience in a CCRC, senior living community, hospitality, hotel, restaurant, or similar environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with outstanding attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and digital communication platforms.
  • Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as programming requires.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, resident-focused environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Event Management, Recreation, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of professional event planning experience.
  • Experience working with older adults or within a senior living or healthcare community.
  • Experience creating promotional materials, resident communications, and community engagement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute a diverse calendar of social, cultural, educational, and recreational programs that support our Culture of Wellness and enhance residents' quality of life.
  • Organize holiday celebrations, large-scale community events, resident outings, clubs, and special programs by coordinating entertainment, catering, décor, transportation, vendors, and event logistics.
  • Partner with residents, resident committees, community organizations, museums, restaurants, colleges, and local businesses to develop engaging programming that reflects resident interests and strengthens community connections.
  • Create and distribute the monthly event calendar, updates on community engagement app, flyers, emails, and promotional materials that keep residents informed and excited about upcoming events.
  • Manage event budgets, ticketing, transportation, vendor relationships, resident registrations, billing, and departmental reporting while ensuring events are organized, efficient, and financially responsible.
  • Track resident participation and satisfaction, gather feedback, evaluate program effectiveness, and continuously develop new ideas that enhance the resident experience.
  • Foster an engaging, welcoming environment by providing outstanding customer service while collaborating with Wellness, Dining, EVS, Transportation, and other departments to ensure every event exceeds expectations.
