About The Position
The Event Manager at The Reed House plays a pivotal role in ensuring our guests have a memorable experience during their wedding day. This role involves making sure all access points are available, final preparations are set before the ceremony, and confirming that vendors are set prior to the start of the event. The Reed House at Live Oaks is a premier event venue located at Live Oaks Golf Club in Jackson, MS, known for its flexible indoor and outdoor spaces, picturesque grounds with ancient live oak trees, and its reputation as a top wedding venue in the state. The venue is situated on over 130 acres of golf course property and was built around the original clubhouse site.
Requirements
- Exceptional ability to plan banquets, manage budgets, and meet deadlines.
- Extensive knowledge of catering equipment and venue requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Walk, sit, stand for long periods of time, bend, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Lift up to 25 lbs. regularly; up to 50 lbs. occasionally and to lift overhead and push/pull, move lighter objects.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional service to guests at all times.
- Make sure the gate to the Reed House is open.
- Have access points open and available to vendors.
- Ensure all preparations are set in advance of the start of the event.
- Remain on property and visible during the duration of the event.
- Address any concerns during events.
