This specific role is for a part-time, onsite Event Manager for their Candlelight Concerts in Buffalo, New York. Candlelight Concerts are a series of classical music concerts held in intimate settings, now expanding to Buffalo. The role involves managing weekly concerts on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in event management and/or a relevant degree (preferred).
  • Interest and passion for live music and organizing events.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Experience leading an on-site team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Good ability to work in a pressured environment.
  • Knowledge of AV and PA systems (desirable).
  • The use of a personal laptop will be required.
  • A valid Driver's License is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact onsite for Candlelight events and staff, communicating directly with the Fever Originals manager.
  • Manage the staff roster, set schedules, and communicate with the staffing agency regarding event reschedules.
  • Ensure staff members are trained in their duties, including ticket validation, guest accommodation, and venue setup (e.g., candle arrangement).
  • Drive a U-Haul with event supplies to and from concert venues (alternative transportation arrangements can be made if the candidate cannot drive).
  • Manage inventory and track supplies for venues.
  • Handle printing needs for events.
  • Manage guest lists for all events.
  • Deliver opening and closing remarks at events, which may involve occasional public speaking.
  • Provide weekly reports to Fever Originals Project Managers on event status, including pre- and post-event findings and feedback.
  • Occasionally assist with evaluating and executing walk-throughs of potential venues.
  • Represent the Fever and Candlelight brands through professional communication and management, acting as the main customer service representative at events.
  • Potentially manage other Fever Original Events in different areas.
