About The Position

At Meter, events are seen as more than just touchpoints; they are opportunities to bring the Meter brand to life. As an Event Manager, you will be responsible for creating and executing both small and large-scale events designed to differentiate Meter and leave a lasting impression on customers, partners, and employees. This role is ideal for someone excited to experiment with event formats, collaborate closely with all departments, act with a sense of urgency, and uphold brand standards. Both internal and external facing events will receive the same level of attention and investment. The role involves taking full ownership of the internal events program and establishing the in-person lab workshop series.

Requirements

  • Experience scaling event programs.
  • Experience building event programs from scratch.
  • Equal strength in managing internal and external facing events.
  • Ability to bring clarity to ambiguous briefs and define scope, goals, audience, format, and budget.
  • Ability to build budgets bottom-up and identify cost savings.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
  • Willingness to travel for SF on-sites, partner events, and venue scouting.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute small and large-scale events that differentiate Meter.
  • Take full ownership of the internal events program.
  • Stand up the in-person lab workshop series.
  • Run GTM Kick off as the event's owner, working with sales, marketing leadership, enablement on content and programming, and design for branding.
  • Develop and ship the internal events playbook, including preferred venue documentation, vendor lists, run-of-show templates, a bottom-up budget framework, and post-event surveys.
  • Stand up the sponsored and hosted event strategy to engage the IT community, developing a high-quality, consistent experience.
  • Support sponsored events on both the channel and direct sides to build general brand awareness for Meter.
  • Manage the run-of-show for company on-sites.
  • Evaluate event requests (e.g., 'we should do something around NANOG') and provide options, costs, and recommendations.
  • Gather feedback from sales, partners, and attendees to refine messaging.
  • Project manage event content, including main stage sessions, activations, demos, and experiential moments, coordinating across product marketing, communications, and technical enablement for programs like GKO and President’s Club.
