Requirements

  • Education plus schooling in hotel/restaurant management or related major.
  • Two or more years of related experience in a high volume environment.
  • Familiarity with hospitality industry practices and Marriott Systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Representing the company to customers and supervising the coordination and planning for assigned group catering and events.
  • Performing and supervising preparation for group catering and events including completion of Banquet Event Order (BEO), meeting room set up specifications, banquet food and beverage, audio visual, program details, attrition, deposits, billing details and collection of payments in compliance with cash handling, credit card transactions and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Preparing all event documentation and coordinating with Sales, hotel departments and customer to ensure consistent, high-level service throughout the pre-event, event and post-event phases of hotel events.
  • Ensuring seamless turnover from sales to service and then back to sales.
  • Recognizing opportunities to maximize revenue by up-selling and offering enhancements to create outstanding events.
  • Understanding principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Developing creative ways to solve problems.
  • Effectively adjusting to major changes in work tasks or the work environment.
  • Developing and sustaining productive customer relationships; actively seeking information to understand and address customer needs.
  • Ensuring maintenance problems are promptly reported to Engineering through proper channels.
  • Ordering supplies and maintaining accurate inventory as assigned.
  • Responding to guest requests, concerns and problems to ensure guest satisfaction.
