About The Position

The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium has been fulfilling its mission of ensuring endangered species are maintained, researched and protected for over 100 years. The Zoo also prides itself on providing excellent experiences to clients and guests through our Group Sales department. We are currently seeking a Full-Time Event Manager to join our time and make certain our guests at the Zoo have the best experience by managing events and assisting with event details.

Requirements

One to two years of experience in group sales and marketing or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be 18+ years of age.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable by the Zoo fleet insurance carrier.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule with nights and weekends.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field.
Previous supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

Planning, coordinating, and executing a variety of events including weddings, proms, private parties, holiday gatherings, revenue generating events and concerts.
Conducting sales and events walk-throughs, final detail meetings, and day-of coordination to ensure smooth execution.
Working closely with clients on event logistics such as catering, menu selection, bar service, décor and entertainment options.
Handling contracts, deposits, and communication with internal teams including Catering, Production, and Development.
Serving as a liaison between clients and staff.
Operating event systems.
Assisting with ticketing through Live Nation and Ticketmaster.
Maintaining event calendars.
Responding to inquiries.
Managing facility coordinator as needed.
Preparing reports and forecasts.
