Arizona State University (ASU) in Washington, D.C., is seeking a part-time Event Management Assistant to serve as the onsite liaison during evening and weekend events at the ASU Barrett & O’Connor Washington Center. Located in the Golden Triangle neighborhood of downtown Washington, D.C., the center hosts a range of academic and public convenings in event spaces throughout the facility, from 20–100 guests. The Event Management Assistant is an in-person position supporting meetings and events which may take place during the evenings and weekends as needed. Specific workdays and hours will vary weekly based on scheduled events. Evening hours are typically 4:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Weekend hours are typically 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. The Event Management Assistant serves as the primary facility liaison during meetings and events taking place in the evenings and on weekends, ensuring that events runs smoothly and that the facility is prepared for the next day’s activities. Duties include setting up furniture and equipment, greeting and escorting vendors (including caterers), addressing event host and guest needs, assisting with event cleanup and load-out, and resetting spaces for upcoming functions. The work schedule will vary based on scheduled facility use and will include evenings and occasional weekends, with the opportunity to work up to 19 hours per week. Students participating in Hospitality & Tourism, Event Management and similar programs are encouraged to apply.
