About The Position

We are currently hiring for an Event Lead. With this position, the main job assignment would be for our gelato & coffee cart events. When there are no events happening, there is an option to be assigned as an in-store barista/gelato server at the Hermosa Beach location according to your availability. Since most of our events occur on the weekends, we are looking for someone with Saturday and Sunday availability. Sometimes our events occur with a 3-day notice.

At Capri Gelato & Coffee Bar, we are devoted to producing the finest quality gelato and coffee inspired by the Amalfi Coast. Our gelato and sorbetto flavors are inspired by Capri’s “garden to table” lifestyle, focusing on local fresh fruit and premium grade pistachios and hazelnuts imported from Italy. Our business is more than a traditional gelato and coffee bar; we have expanded to special events such as the 2019 and 2020 Golden Globe Awards, where we served gelato and coffee to the stars. We are a growing team that cares deeply about the community, leading to our partnerships with local farms for all of our fresh ingredients and creating a sustainable composting program. Our training program is centered around hospitality, to ensure every team member and customer feels welcomed and valued. Our team believes in hiring the right people, giving them the tools they need to succeed, and supporting them along the way.

Requirements

• At least 1 year driving experience
• Valid California Driver's License
• Experience with customer service
• Experience with manual labor
• Heavy lifting and maneuvering
• Following specific direction for equipment safety and responsibility
• Driving a long distance safely
• Communicating with clients during the event
• Following specific instructions for preparing for the event, and working the logistics of an event.
• Be able to work alone sometimes.
• Be able to troubleshoot equipment malfunction
• Stay organized
• Follow detailed instructions
• Communicate regularly
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Saturday and Sunday availability
• Availability for events with a 3-day notice.

Responsibilities

• Driving to the Marina Del Rey location to pick up the event truck.
• Preparing the event supplies
• Loading the event truck
• Driving the event truck to the event (sometimes our events are far away, like Palm Springs/Temecula)
• Unload the equipment
• Set up the Equipment
• Serve at the event
• Clean up/re-load the truck and drive back to the Marina Del Rey location.
• Pick up gelato server/barista shifts at our Hermosa Beach location to accommodate any desire for more hours.
