Event Food Runner
About The Position
Major Food Group is hiring part-time Event Food Runners to join our team at THE POOL! Situated in the landmarked Seagram Building, THE POOL has been home to New York's most storied parties and events for over half a century. With its soaring 20-foot ceilings, white-marble fountain, and shimmering chain curtains enveloping the walls, THE POOL is an iconic venue where the room itself is an occasion. Conveying mid-century elegance and fantastical grandeur in equal measure, THE POOL lends itself to a variety of configurations and is, simply put, the finest events space in all of New York City.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years working in a high volume, upscale restaurant preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
Responsibilities
- Delivers food from kitchen and delivers to guests in an accurate and timely manner
- Understands all menu offerings, food descriptions and ingredients and is able to verbalize to guests
- Set tables appropriately to ensure guests have everything needed at each stage of service
- Ensure expo and service station areas are organized and maintained
- Maintains cleanliness of tables between courses and resets tables upon completion of meal
- Assists front-of-house team with other duties as required or assigned
