Event Delivery Specialist
About The Position
Packaging of ice products for delivery, reading ice orders and accurately pulling these items from inventory, and delivery of weekly drink ice orders. This role also involves the installation/removal of ice sculptures at special events. The specialist will build and maintain outstanding customer relationships, perform pre/post trip inspections, comply with state/federal hours of service requirements, and operate the vehicle in accordance with DOT regulations. Responsibilities include producing invoices for each delivery, completing all required paperwork, and ensuring the safe operation, working condition, and inventory of all driver “tools” such as handhelds, printers, handcarts, and hand trucks. The employee must report all accidents and injuries, cooperate and promote a team concept with all other company employees, adhere to all rules and regulations, and meet or exceed company safety standards. Performing other tasks as assigned by management and adhering to the Code of Business Ethics, which values honesty and integrity, are essential.
Requirements
- A minimum of one year experience as a driver
- High School education or GED
- Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
- Ability to accurately gauge lengths of time and distance
- Ability to quickly store and recall instructions in one’s short term memory
- Ability to concentrate and perform tasks involving high levels of cognitive function and judgment
- Ability to cope with sudden changes in surrounding and/or emergency situations and/or alarms
- Demonstrate a caring, committed and concerned attitude about safety
- Must possess a clean driving record
- Must work in a safe and responsible manner to protect personnel and property
Nice To Haves
- Three years previous route delivery driver experience preferred
