About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting the special event division with event planning and coordination of community special events. This includes administrative assistance with sponsorship solicitation, vendor coordination, and research of new and trending event ideas. Day of event responsibilities include set up as well as takedown. The goal of this position is to assist in providing a quality experience to guests, vendors, and customers above and beyond their expectations.

Requirements

  • Intermediate skill with computers
  • Effective problem resolution skills
  • Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing
  • Proficient listening skills
  • Knowledge of rules of grammar
  • Knowledge of practices of document preparation
  • Ability to convey information in a concise, tactful, professional manner with a focus on patience and sensitivity
  • Polished and proven people skills
  • Ability to interact well with a diverse population
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service both internally and externally
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Must be a self-starter and take initiative
  • Excellent organization, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions
  • Must be 16 years of age
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (or must obtain within 30 days of hire)

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • One year of customer service related work experience preferred
