About The Position

This is a part-time, non-exempt position with no more than twenty-nine (29) hours per week, reporting to the Event Operations Manager and, in their absence, the Activities Director. The Events Crew Member is responsible for the setup, breakdown, transportation, storage, and maintenance of event furnishings, equipment, and supplies used for Association meetings, programs, and events. The position supports the successful execution of events by ensuring event spaces are prepared in a safe, professional, and timely manner. Additional responsibilities may include basic audiovisual support.

  • Valid Nevada driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and move equipment, furniture, and supplies required to support Association events.
  • Ability to frequently move tables, chairs, audiovisual equipment, staging materials, and event supplies weighing up to 80 pounds, independently or with assistance and/or appropriate equipment.
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments and travel throughout Association facilities as required to perform assigned duties.
  • Ability to communicate and exchange information in person, by telephone, email, handheld radio, and other communication methods.
  • Ability to read event schedules, set up diagrams, work orders, labels, instructions, and electronic communications, with or without corrective lenses.
  • Comply with established safe work practices and attend all safety-related training provided or made available by the Association.
  • Attend and successfully complete all required safety training programs provided or made available by the Association.
  • Utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety devices when performing assigned duties.
  • Immediately report unsafe conditions, accidents, incidents, injuries, or near misses in accordance with Association policies.
  • Maintain a safe work environment for staff, residents, guests, vendors, and contractors.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in event setup, hospitality, banquet operations, facilities support, customer service, moving services, or related work preferred.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare meeting rooms, auditoriums, courtyards, terraces, sports courts, and fitness centers timely.
  • Move tables, chairs, and equipment to and from storage.
  • Post indoor/outdoor signs and assist with decorations.
  • Test and operate sound boards, speakers, computers, and audiovisual equipment for live events and meetings.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of all AV equipment, tables, and chairs.
  • Follow preventive maintenance schedules and report to manager for necessary equipment repairs.
  • Disassemble and remove event setups; return furniture, equipment, audiovisual components, and event materials to designated storage areas; clean, sanitize, and restore event spaces to established standards; remove trash and debris; and ensure all rooms, equipment, and storage areas are organized, secure, and ready for future use.
  • Log into computers to review setup reports.
  • Maintain contact with the Manager regarding calendar updates, additions, or cancellations.
  • Interact professionally with residents and members of the public.
  • Adhere to the Community Association safety program and meet all OSHA standards.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.
