EVENT CATERING WAIT STAFF (FULL AND PART TIME)
About The Position
Assembles, delivers, sets up, and serves food and beverages to guests at on-premise and off-premise events. The role supports event preparation and service, including arranging tables and decorations, setting buffet tables, serving plated dinners and beverages, and responding to guest requests. It also includes cleaning and packing dishes and utensils, venue cleanup, and assisting with inventory, food storage, and other closeout tasks. The position is based at Intuit Credit Karma, 1100 Broadway Street, Oakland, California. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with shifts from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM; further details are provided during the interview.
Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Must meet applicable state and local food-handler health requirements.
Nice To Haves
- Previous catering experience is preferred; training is available.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and deliver food and supplies for catered functions to scheduled locations.
- Arrange tables and decorations.
- Set buffet tables with food, beverages, and service items according to established standards.
- Serve food and beverages to guests.
- Clean and pack dishes and utensils.
- Return unserved food and beverages, serving equipment, and utensils to the Commissary.
- Ensure display foods are attractively merchandised according to established standards.
- Handle food items appropriately during preparation.
- Serve food neatly and attractively according to established standards.
- Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
- Thoroughly clean the workstation before leaving for other assignments.
- Assist with food and table preparation before events.
- Serve plated dinners and respond to requests for beverages, appetizers, and other needs.
- Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, open wine, and take drink orders.
- Clean up the venue after events and assist with inventory, food storage, and other closeout tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
