About The Position

Groovin' Gourmets, the catering division of Trolley Hospitality Companies, is seeking an Event Captain to manage all aspects of events, from safe transport of food and equipment to set-up, serving, and take-down. This role involves leading a team, adapting to different venues, and ensuring seamless service flow. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, proactive problem-solver with a passion for customer service and team development, looking for a role with more variety and responsibility than a traditional server position.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of catering or banquet service experience
• Experience leading a team, whether in food service or other industry
• Excellent communication ability, both verbal and written
• Positive and empowering interpersonal skills
• Physical stamina to work long hours (must be able to lift 50 pounds)

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safe transport of food, drinks, and equipment to event venue.
• Manage all aspects of the event including set-up, serving meals and beverages, and take-down.
• Carry out the Sales Event Coordinator's plan for the event and be able to adapt to different venues when determining how to set up and organize service flow.
• Lead a team of co-captains, servers, and bartenders.
• Maintain good communication with the event host.
• Be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise.
• Create an environment that supports and develops the members of your team.
• Be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
