Evening Shift Lead - Direct Support Professional
About The Position
The Arc Western Montana is seeking two compassionate and dependable individuals to serve as Shift Leads in their Easy St and South Hills Group Homes. These roles support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment. The Easy St home is described as fun, with clients who enjoy engagement and activities like soccer, listening to music, and arts and crafts. The South Hills home's residents enjoy drives and outdoor activities, offering an opportunity to gain experience with client behaviors. In this position, the Shift Lead will work directly with clients, guide teammates, and ensure the smooth operation of the homes during evening and weekend shifts. While not a management role, the Shift Lead will be a crucial resource for others.
Requirements
- Previous Direct Support Professional experience preferred but not required; experience in caregiving or as a CNA would also be relevant
- A valid Driver’s License with a minimum of 5 years' driving experience and clean driving record
- A team player looking to take the next step in their career
- Strong written and verbal communication
Responsibilities
- Support Clients with daily living activities like meals, hygiene, and medications
- Model best practices for other staff and help maintain consistent, high-quality care
- Assist with community outings, social events, and skill-building activities
- Provide on-the-job training to DSPs in areas like vitals, oxygen use, medications, and engagement
- Maintain accurate documentation and program data
- Help bridge communication between shifts to support continuity of care
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming home environment for Clients
