The Evening Shelving Worker is a work-study employee responsible for maintaining the organization of the Seminary Library's Reading Room. Key duties include ensuring books are in their correct alpha-numeric order on the shelves, re-shelving returned materials, and tidying periodical display shelves. The role also involves a closing routine which includes straightening chairs, refilling copier paper, and turning off machines and lights. Specific shelving tasks are assigned based on the day of the week, covering different sections of the library's collection such as philosophy, Judaism, church history, Scripture, Christology, Mariology, and Spirituality. The worker is expected to check study areas for un-checked-out books and periodicals that need re-shelving before closing.
