Evening Custodian
About The Position
This position is primarily located in the Eastview High School Activity Center and involves cleaning assigned building areas, performing minor repairs and maintenance, moving and assembling furniture, assisting in securing the building, and participating in the school recycling program. The role also includes assisting with grounds duties such as trash pickup, mowing, weed control, and snow removal. The custodian is expected to perform duties in a timely, neat, and efficient manner and may be assigned additional duties as needed. This is an 8-hour per day position, Monday through Friday, from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency required
- Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be physically qualified to perform assigned duties including lifting up to 50lbs on a regular basis
- Must display flexibility in cleaning assignments
- Ability to communicate in a clear, positive manner with staff, students and the public
- Must have a desire to work in a cooperative manner and team environment
- Must have a good attendance record and be punctual
- Must have positive work performance evaluations
- Must not have any recent disciplinary actions
- Must conduct a positive interview
- Must receive a good reference from current and previous supervisors
Nice To Haves
- Previous custodial and routine maintenance experience, preferred
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred
Responsibilities
- Clean assigned building areas
