About The Position

Part-time work as an Evening Custodian at the Y offers flexible hours with meaningful impact on your community. The Ann Arbor YMCA is seeking reliable and detail-oriented evening custodians to join our team. As a custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred
Ability to lift and move heavy equipment or supplies
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Responsibilities

Maintain positive relationships with staff and members in a child-friendly environment.
Maintain a positive and professional attitude when interacting with customers
Work closely with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
Dust and wipe down surfaces
Empty trash and recycling bins
Restock supplies as needed
Notify management of any maintenance or repair needs
Landscaping and snow removal.
Assist the Facilities Director with the outside contractors and vendors that are doing work in the building and on the grounds.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines
