About The Position

Grace Church is seeking an Evening Custodial Supervisor to lead and guide the evening custodial staff, ensuring all custodial responsibilities are completed effectively and efficiently. This role involves providing comprehensive custodial support, assisting with event setups and teardowns, scheduling staff, managing inventory, maintaining vendor relationships, and ensuring the security of Grace Church properties. The supervisor will oversee daily maintenance needs for restrooms, flooring, carpeting, offices, classrooms, and meeting rooms, as well as perform light facilities maintenance. A thorough understanding of the security system, opening and closing procedures, and equipment operation is required. The role also includes training new staff on cleaning protocols and procedures, and assisting with minor snow removal as needed. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• 3-5 years of relevant custodial and supervisory experience.
• Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
• Current on MSDS (Material Data Safety Sheet) requirements and the use and storage of chemicals used in custodial work.
• Proven background of exceptional customer service; able to serve the staff and congregation with respect.
• Demonstrates a willingness and capability to learn the intricacies of maintaining a large facility.
• Exhibits a meaningful and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, as evidenced by the manifestation of the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
• Has a commitment to personal and active participation in the fulfillment of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20).
• Exhibits a lifestyle appropriate to a person in public Christian ministry by conducting life with the utmost integrity in all situations.

Responsibilities

• Providing leadership of the custodial team during evenings and special events.
• Providing comprehensive custodial support in all areas of maintenance and care.
• Supporting Grace events with set-ups and teardowns.
• Scheduling custodial staff and ensuring necessary shift coverage.
• Managing inventory of supplies and maintaining necessary stock.
• Maintaining relationships with vendors and contractors.
• Assisting in maintaining security for Grace Church properties.
• Overseeing and executing daily maintenance needs for all restrooms.
• Overseeing and maintaining flooring and carpeting throughout the facilities.
• Overseeing and executing office cleaning, including vacuuming and detail cleaning.
• Overseeing and executing maintenance of all classrooms and meeting rooms.
• Overseeing and executing light facilities maintenance and care, including vacuuming and detail cleaning.
• Operating and understanding the security system.
• Responding to security issues.
• Understanding opening and closing procedures.
• Performing general custodial care as directed by the Director of Facilities.
• Understanding the proper operation of equipment.
• Training new staff on Grace Church cleaning protocols and procedures, including equipment use and care.
• Assisting in minor snow removal during snow events as needed.
