About The Position

Lewis Central Community School District is seeking an Evening Custodial Supervisor to oversee buildings and custodial staff during evening hours. This full-time, full-year role involves supervising and working alongside the evening custodial team, ensuring facilities are maintained in excellent operational condition to support the educational program. The position includes managing evening custodial operations, staff supervision, performance evaluations, routine and preventative maintenance, building security, and seasonal grounds work, while also providing support to facility visitors and during district emergencies.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1-2 years managerial experience
  • 1-2 years facilities/ground maintenance experience or a related field, preferably in a school setting

Responsibilities

  • Reports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis.
  • Provides flexibility in own schedule so as to accommodate building activities, building supervision and subordinate issues.
  • Assists visiting public in utilizing the facilities and in obtaining and setting up needed equipment and/or materials.
  • Assumes and/or assigns responsibility for building and grounds security during each shift worked.
  • Performs ongoing preventative maintenance and minor repair for plumbing, electrical equipment, custodial equipment, ventilation, building structure and hardware as needed daily.
  • Cleans and preserves designated spaces, equipment, etc., in the building and on the grounds daily.
  • Maintains inventory of custodial/maintenance supplies and equipment daily and reports needs to Facility Manager(s).
  • Reports any maintenance, custodial or staff issues to Facility Manager(s) daily, as needed.
  • Evaluates performance, monitors timesheets for evening custodial staff.
  • Assists with performance evaluations for evening custodial staff.
  • Prepares various reports as directed daily.
  • Coordinates and assists with seasonal grounds work (snow removal, mowing, etc.) for facilities as needed.
  • May be asked to perform district-wide support services in case of emergency situations.
  • May be asked to assist in supervising buildings and grounds, staff and events on weekends.
  • Directs and supervises all evening custodial staff.
  • Is responsible for following the Progressive Discipline procedures working with the Facility Manager ensure proper steps are being followed.
  • Reviews, approves and submits evening custodial staff’s timesheet and leave requests.
