About The Position

This position is responsible for evaluating student records from other institutions primarily to determine the applicability of transfer coursework and, as needed, to determine transfer admission eligibility. The incumbent provides services that are equitable, inclusive, and culturally sensitive to enhance the quality of campus life, using a student-centered and equity-minded approach in all communication and service efforts.

Requirements

  • Equivalent to one year of experience related to academic records evaluation required.
  • Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
  • Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures.
  • Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in utilizing PeopleSoft, imaging systems, and articulation resources to research course equivalencies, resolve record discrepancies, maintain degree audits, and accurately post transfer degrees.

Responsibilities

  • Review file to verify all documents have been received by utilizing PeopleSoft and imaging software.
  • Verify accreditation of post-secondary institutions previously attended.
  • Review course credit system, grading policies, and scholastic standing on transcript.
  • Advise students, college counselors, CSULB academic departments, and other sections of Enrollment Services on transfer evaluation, admissions policies/procedures, and degree requirements.
  • Organize and keep current reference materials, including policies and procedures.
