About The Position

The ETL Development Lead is responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of scalable end-to-end data pipelines that support enterprise data warehousing and analytics initiatives. As a hands-on technical leader, this position drives best practices in ETL development, ensures high-quality and reliable data solutions, and provides mentorship and guidance to the development team. The role works closely with architects, analysts, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust data solutions while ensuring performance, scalability, and production stability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of work experience as an ETL Developer building and maintaining data pipelines
  • Proven hands-on experience with AB Initio for ETL design, development, and data transformations
  • Strong expertise in SQL, including complex query development and performance tuning
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, including data marts and data modeling fundamentals
  • Strong experience working in Unix/Linux environments with shell scripting for automation and orchestration
  • Experience building and maintaining enterprise data pipelines (source → staging → data warehouse → data marts)
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills across ETL workflows
  • Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership, mentoring, or leading development teams
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in large-scale enterprise or consulting environments
  • Exposure to cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, or metadata management frameworks
  • Experience with additional ETL or data integration tools

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of end-to-end ETL/data pipelines from source systems to data warehouse and data marts
  • Provide technical leadership, including code reviews, standards enforcement, and mentoring of ETL developers
  • Design and implement scalable and efficient data transformations, including cleansing, aggregation, and integration using AB Initio
  • Develop and optimize complex SQL queries for high-performance data processing
  • Oversee ETL job scheduling, automation, and monitoring using Unix and shell scripting
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and alignment with enterprise data warehouse standards and best practices
  • Collaborate with architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Support deployment, QA/UAT testing, and ensure stability and reliability in production environments
  • Drive continuous improvement of ETL frameworks, processes, and performance
