About The Position

Road & Rail Services is hiring a dependable Ethanol Transload Operator to support our Tampa Port operation. This position is responsible for the safe transfer of ethanol between railcars and tanker trucks while following established safety, environmental, and operating procedures. This is an outdoor, physically active industrial position and is not a traditional Monday-Friday job. Employees must be comfortable working around rail equipment, tanker trucks, transfer equipment, and hazardous materials. The position operates on a 100% on-call schedule with 24/7 availability required. Actual working hours will depend on customer and operational needs. However, employees in this position are guaranteed a minimum of 35 paid hours per pay period, even when actual call-in hours are lower.

Requirements

  • Ability to walk up to 10 miles during a shift
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
  • Ability to climb to heights of approximately 20 feet
  • Willing and able to wear all required PPE, including respiratory protection and hazardous-material protective equipment
  • Dependable 24/7 on-call availability is an essential requirement of the position
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Comfortable working outdoors

Responsibilities

  • Connect, monitor, and disconnect equipment used to transfer ethanol between railcars and tanker trucks
  • Climb approximately 20 feet to access, inspect, secure, and seal tank cars and trucks
  • Prepare ethanol for transfer using processes such as heating, sparging, and sampling
  • Complete required inspections before, during, and after product transfers
  • Maintain accurate logs, transfer records, and other required documentation
  • Operate tractors, carts, and other small equipment throughout the facility
  • Perform basic mechanical tasks such as battery replacement and oil changes
  • Wear required PPE when handling hazardous materials, including respiratory protection and hazmat suits when necessary
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with environmental requirements
  • Follow applicable company, customer, OSHA, FRA, and EPA safety procedures
