Waltham Public Schools is seeking dynamic School Adjustment Counselors for our ESY program to support the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students across all program strands. This role is designed to provide clinical support and crisis intervention for students who require emotional regulation strategies and social skills maintenance to prevent significant regression during the summer months. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing individual and small-group counseling sessions as mandated by student IEPs, as well as providing "as-needed" behavioral support and de-escalation across various classrooms. In addition to direct student support, the counselor will collaborate with teachers and parents to manage behavioral crises, facilitate social skills groups, and maintain consistent communication regarding student well-being. The position concludes with the drafting of participation summary reports detailing social-emotional progress for each student on the caseload.
