Estimator (Heavy Civil Construction)
About The Position
The Estimator, in collaboration with the Senior Estimator, Lead Estimator, and/or Estimating Manager, is responsible for developing accurate, timely, and detailed cost estimates for large, complex heavy civil projects. These projects can be bid-build, design-build, CM/GC, PPP, and Engineer, Procure and Construct (EPC) types. The role involves supporting the delivery of well-organized estimates, budgets, and schedules, while effectively managing Skanska’s risk. Key responsibilities include performing accurate quantity surveys, defining subcontractor and vendor work scopes, analyzing quotes, and estimating the cost of self-perform work. The Estimator is expected to be a self-starter, work efficiently, meet critical deadlines, and function effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree – Engineering, Construction Management or similar technical training/experience.
- 1 - 10 years prior relevant experience.
- Practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
