Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial roofing estimating experience, with strong knowledge of low-slope systems such as TPO, PVC, EPDM, modified bitumen, and BUR.
  • The ability to read plans and specifications, complete material takeoffs, and recognize when a specified roof system is incomplete or inconsistent.
  • Familiarity with commercial roofing manufacturers, products, installation methods, and warranty requirements.
  • Experience with digital takeoff tools such as The EDGE, Bluebeam, or PlanSwift, plus proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Clear communication skills and the confidence to explain an estimate to sales teams, contractors, and other partners.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with roofing contractors, manufacturers, manufacturer representatives, or building products distribution is valuable.
  • We’re especially interested in candidates who have estimated commercial roofing projects firsthand and understand how the materials come together in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Review drawings, specifications, and other construction documents to determine project requirements.
  • Perform digital material takeoffs and prepare timely estimates for commercial low-slope roofing projects.
  • Identify the components required for single-ply, modified bitumen, and built-up roofing systems, including manufacturer-specific requirements.
  • Document assumptions, scope gaps, specification conflicts, and warranty considerations so they can be addressed before a quote is issued.
  • Partner with sales, project tracking teams, contractors, and manufacturers to answer project questions and clarify estimate details.
  • Maintain accurate project and estimate records in company systems and help improve estimating processes.
