Estimator - Electrical Contractor
About The Position
Slifco Electric is a premier electrical contracting firm serving the automotive, heavy industrial, and mission critical sectors. The company specializes in ground-up construction and major renovations, with electrical packages ranging from small service work to multi-million-dollar installations. The Electrical Estimator helps Slifco Electric secure projects by preparing accurate, competitive, and well-structured estimates. The role collaborates with leadership and project teams during preconstruction to help shape project strategy, and supports handoff to operations teams after projects are awarded.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of electrical estimating experience or a strong electrical construction background.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and installation practices.
- Ability to confidently read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience with estimating software platforms.
- Strong computer proficiency and technical aptitude.
Nice To Haves
- Data Center project experience.
- Accubid experience.
- Journeyman Electrician License.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and competitive electrical estimates for commercial and industrial projects.
- Review and analyze drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Perform detailed material take-offs and labor analysis.
- Evaluate vendor and subcontractor proposals and pricing.
- Identify project risks, scope gaps, and value engineering opportunities.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and leadership during preconstruction.
- Maintain organized, clear, and defensible estimate documentation.
- Support project handoff to operations teams after award.
