About The Position

Tutor Perini is seeking an Estimator – Quantities Takeoff for our office in New Rochelle, NY. As an Estimator-Quantities Takeoff at Tutor Perini, reporting to the VP Estimating/Lead Estimator, you will have the opportunity to conduct a thorough review of the contract plans, specifications and other documents for the bid items assigned. You will perform detailed quantity take-offs for the bid items assigned, know general requirements and special conditions, and be aware of the proposal requirements and discuss with Lead Estimator. You will also identify unusual items, if any, file and update bid documents, submit and log RFIs and RFCs, solicit quotations from subcontractors and suppliers, prepare HCSS comparison sheets, and assist in preparing the bid schedule. Additionally, you will identify D/M/WBE requirements, prepare GFE using SmartBid, develop clear write-ups and documentation required for SOQ / RFP type proposals, and assist in the preparation of documents for bid and proposal submission. For Joint Venture bids, you will compare and reconcile quantities. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate and work well with others (team player) and be able to take direction well and not afraid to ask questions or for assistance.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering or Construction Management or similar from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • Minimum experience of 5 years in heavy civil construction working with a General Contractor to include 3 years in Estimating.
  • Fluent with the following software: HCSS Heavy Bid, Blue Beam, Excel, Primavera P6, SmartBid.
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities
