About The Position

Rogers Group is currently seeking a motivated, results oriented, ESTIMATOR/PROJECT MANAGER to grow our team in commercial and D.O.T work for our Middle TN operations located in Tullahoma, TN. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising emphasis on safety, ethics, and quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or proven experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial, heavy/civil project estimating and management.
  • Proven sales, negotiation, and customer relations skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Proven record of being a self-starter and able to work under limited supervision.
  • Knowledge of asphalt paving and associated roadway scopes, with constructability comprehension is required.
  • Review plans, specifications, contract documents and attend pre-bid meetings to understand requirements for accurate bid preparation.
  • Analyzes quotes, historical cost, and pricing information for preparation of bids and construction subcontracts.
  • Follow-up to ensure completion and close-out of projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferential hiring status given to local candidates.
  • Knowledge in HCSS, Bluebeam, Excel, along with the ability to type sound letters to project owners.
  • Knowledge of managing commercial and DOT work is preferred.
  • Experience in CPM scheduling is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Active participation in company safety program, values, policies, and strategic plan.
  • Attend pre-bid/pre-construction meetings, review proposal documents, plans, and specifications to understand the scope of work to prepare bids for DOT, commercial, and municipalities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships within the marketplace with owners, customers, GCs, and subcontractors.
  • Perform take-offs, create estimates, analyze subcontractor & vendor quotes, and submit proposals; continually having strong attention to detail with precision work.
  • Interface with local GC’s, customers, architects/engineers, to provide budget information to determine project feasibility.
  • Participate in job set-up/conforming budgets, produce and review submittals, communicate with subcontractors and suppliers for project scheduling.
  • Compile change orders to resolve site variations, determine schedule, and cost impacts of delays, and generate progress invoices through final billing.
  • Perform additional tasks and assignments as necessary to meet deadlines or at management’s discretion.
  • Produce job schedules, work paths for both self-perform work, subcontractors, and material delivery.
  • Handle customer complaints, if required.
  • Maintain current and accurate information on pricing and cost variance.
  • Assist in compiling annual budgets and business plans, along with weekly and monthly job cost reviews.
  • Keep projects on schedule and completed in said time frame.
