About The Position

Feyen Zylstra is seeking an Electrical Estimator to support its Carolina locations, based in the Charleston office. The role prepares detailed quantity take-offs and project estimates and collaborates closely with Field Operations, Purchasing, Leadership, and Project Managers to produce accurate, complete estimates. The work includes estimating large commercial and industrial electrical construction projects, preparing conceptual budgets from limited information, and gathering information through activities such as jobsite walk-throughs, vendor calls, and review meetings. The estimator is expected to be relationship-oriented, detail-focused, process-oriented, accountable for tracking results, and effective at communicating relevant information. Regional travel to project sites may be needed. Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience estimating electrical construction projects valued over $3 million.
Experience estimating large commercial and industrial projects.
Proficiency in Accubid estimating software.
Ability to prepare conceptual budgets based on minimal information and specifications.
Ability to travel regionally to project sites as needed.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and project estimates.
Collaborate with Field Operations, Purchasing, Leadership, and Project Managers to ensure estimates are accurate and complete.
Gather information for estimates through jobsite walk-throughs, vendor calls, and review meetings.
Prepare conceptual budgets based on limited information and specifications.
Review bid documents and vendor quotes, and account for material and labor cost fluctuations.
Produce professional, accurate, error-free documents for customers and meet deadlines.
Use processes, standards, and early risk assessment to mitigate problems.
Document and track project data, keep dashboards up to date, measure progress and results, and communicate pertinent information.
Travel regionally to project sites as needed.
