About The Position

N Line Electric is seeking an experienced Electrical Distribution Estimator to join our team. Established in 2003, N Line Electric specializes in medium-voltage electrical distribution and industrial electrical construction throughout Colorado and Wyoming. We're looking for an estimator who understands how electrical distribution work is actually built and can develop accurate, competitive estimates that translate into successful projects in the field. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator, Journeyman Lineman, or electrical professional who wants to use their field knowledge and estimating experience to help grow an established electrical contractor.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years of electrical estimating experience
  • Experience with medium-voltage, utility distribution, industrial electrical, or similar construction
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
  • Experience performing labor and material takeoffs
  • Strong understanding of construction labor productivity and project costs
  • Experience with estimating software, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines

  • Overhead and underground electrical distribution estimating
  • McCormick Estimating Software
  • Journeyman Lineman or Journeyman Electrician background
  • Medium-voltage field construction experience
  • Industrial, oil and gas, utility, or municipal electrical construction

Responsibilities

  • Prepare estimates for overhead and underground medium-voltage distribution projects
  • Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements
  • Perform material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor takeoffs
  • Develop labor hours, crew requirements, production assumptions, and equipment needs
  • Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations
  • Identify project risks, scope gaps, and constructability concerns
  • Prepare competitive proposals with clearly defined scopes, assumptions, and exclusions
  • Participate in bid reviews with company leadership and Operations
  • Provide a clear estimating handoff to Project Managers and field leadership when projects are awarded
  • Review estimated versus actual project performance to continuously improve estimating accuracy
