Estimator & Customer Account Representative

Kenney Industries Inc.Dallas, TX
$25 - $35Onsite

About The Position

Kenney Industries is a contract manufacturer serving customers across a range of industries with precision machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and assembly - all under one roof. We're growing, and we're looking for an Estimator & Customer Account Representative to quote new work accurately and be the trusted point of contact our customers count on. This is a dual role: part cost estimator, part relationship manager. You'll turn drawings and RFQs into competitive, profitable quotes, then carry those accounts through the order - keeping customers informed and coming back.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of estimating, inside sales, or customer account experience in a machine shop, sheet metal, fabrication, or contract manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
  • Working knowledge of machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and assembly processes and how they drive cost.
  • Strong math and analytical skills, comfortable with quoting tools, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Professional, responsive, and comfortable managing customer expectations - including tough conversations - with composure.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple quotes and accounts against deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
  • Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, or other quality-system requirements.
  • Prior experience quoting a mix of low-volume/high-mix and production work.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer drawings, models, and RFQs to prepare accurate cost estimates for machined, fabricated, welded, and assembled parts.
  • Determine material, labor, machine time, tooling, outside processing, and finishing costs and build competitive, profitable quotes.
  • Serve as the primary contact for assigned accounts - answering questions, providing lead times and status updates, and building long-term relationships.
  • Work with shop-floor supervisors, purchasing, and engineering to confirm feasibility, capacity, and pricing before quotes go out.
  • Enter and track quotes, orders, and revisions in the ERP/quoting system and follow up on open opportunities.
  • Review purchase orders against quotes and flag discrepancies before jobs release to the floor.

Benefits

  • Competitive pay depending on experience
  • Health insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Paid holidays
  • Retirement plan options
