About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive bids for commercial and industrial electrical construction projects throughout the Houston area. This role is responsible for managing the estimating process from initial plan review through project handoff, ensuring bids are complete, competitive, and aligned with project requirements. The ideal candidate has a strong background estimating commercial electrical construction projects, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to develop detailed cost estimates while collaborating with Project Managers, vendors, subcontractors, and clients in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial electrical estimating experience.
• Experience estimating commercial, industrial, healthcare, educational, institutional, or municipal electrical construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems, NEC requirements, construction methods, drawings, and specifications.
• Proven experience performing detailed quantity takeoffs and preparing complete bid proposals.
• Proficiency with electrical estimating software such as Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, or similar platforms.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bids in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Residential-only estimating experience is not sufficient for this role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial and industrial electrical construction projects.
• Review electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents to determine project scope and pricing requirements.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
• Solicit, evaluate, and compare pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Develop complete bid proposals, scope clarifications, value engineering recommendations, and pricing summaries.
• Identify scope gaps, constructability concerns, project risks, and cost-saving opportunities before bid submission.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, general contractors, engineers, architects, vendors, and internal teams throughout the estimating process.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and scope review meetings as required.
• Support project turnover by providing estimate reviews, budget information, and scope clarifications to operations teams.
• Maintain estimating databases, historical pricing, bid records, and vendor relationships.
• Manage multiple bids simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy.
